Accomodation in Venice: luxury hotel, hostel or apartment?

In a charming wedding portrait, a couple stands smiling in a warmly decorated room. The bride holds a bouquet of purple and pink flowers, while the groom wears a gray suit with a rose boutonniere. Green curtains and framed art create an elegant backdrop for this joyful moment.

There are many high-level hotels in Venice which are chosen by most of the couples hiring me as a wedding, engagement or honeymoon photographer.

As you might well imagine, Venice is no ideal city for cheap accommodation. If you want to enjoy the privilege of being awaken by the typical Venetian morning noises (made up of gondolieri’s voices, boats’ and ferries’ motors, people’s shouts, and so on) and with a nice view on the Canal Grande from your bedroom’s window you must be ready to pay for it.

Shooting pieces of art: photographs of ancient stories

Palazzo Tritone in Rome: architecture photo shooting
Palazzo Tritone hosts the Fondazione Sorgente Group headquarters in Roma and I was hired to make an architecture photo service of the building.

Last year I was hired as a photographer of architecture to portray the Fondazione Sorgente Group’s headquarters: the aim was to get high-level photographs of the wonderful palace hosting this cultural and art institution’s headquartes and their prestigious exhibition place, the so called Spazio Tritone. Greek Marbles of the 5th and 4th Century BC from the Fondazione Sorgente Group Collection”.

I had the chance to shoot the statue of Nike Athena which is currently displayed in an exhibition at Palazzo Tritone in Rome.

This kind of photographic service is not exactly the same as the ones I am mostly involved in and works in a slightly different way: in my wedding, engagement, Continue reading “Shooting pieces of art: photographs of ancient stories”

Churches and worship places in Venice: where, when, how and….how many?

Orthodox church in Venice hosting a wedding photo service
Venice hosts numerous worship places for different religions: here you see the Russian-Orthodox Church of San Giovanni Decollato

There are numerous worship places in Venice: when you walk along alleys and squares (for instance during an engagement, wedding or honeymoon photo service) you will pass by one of them every few minutes. The majority is made up of Catholic churches scattered among the boroughs (“sestieri”) of Venice and open at daytime, usually from 10.00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
