High water in Venice: avoid it thanks to an app or enjoy it during a photo shooting!

This Russian couple made the most of high water and enjoyed a special honeymoon photo shooting in Venice dancing and playing in the flooded Piazza San Marco.

High water is a common event in Venice, especially from October to December. But you can run into it (or rather… walk into it! ) even in springtime. It is mostly due to an unlucky combination of several factors, such as bad weather, tides, winds and artificial digging works which influence the water in the Venetian lagoon and allow the seawater to flood the city in a short while.

Venice hosts many cafés where tourists can stop for a break while visiting the city or during a photo shooting, as it was the case for this Asian couple enjoying a pre-wedding photo service.

There are many places where you can enjoy a break during your visit in Venice, or during a photo service (be it an engagement, wedding or honeymoon photo shooting): the city has many cafés, bars or restaurants where you can drink or eat at any hour of the day and most of the night.

Accomodation in Venice: luxury hotel, hostel or apartment?

There are many high-level hotels in Venice which are chosen by most of the couples hiring me as a wedding, engagement or honeymoon photographer.

As you might well imagine, Venice is no ideal city for cheap accommodation. If you want to enjoy the privilege of being awaken by the typical Venetian morning noises (made up of gondolieri’s voices, boats’ and ferries’ motors, people’s shouts, and so on) and with a nice view on the Canal Grande from your bedroom’s window you must be ready to pay for it.
