A surprising honeymoon photo shooting: the story of a bride and her bag

married couple posing during honeymoon photo service at Garda Lake
During a nice honeymoon photo servce in Desenzano del Garda, the groom surprised the bride by giving her as a present a bag she was deeply longing for.

One advantage of working as a professional photographer for couples enjoying their holidays or honeymoon in Italy is that I often come across some nice stories which happen during the shooting sessions.

A few days before the honeymoon shooting at Garda Lake, the couple had enjoyed a great informal photo walk in Venice, where the bride fell in love with a bag which, so she was said, was too expansive for her groom.

Last year I had the chance to enjoy an informal photo walk in Venice with a young Russian couple who after some shots in the enchanting Ghetto Vecchio, stopped in a shop because the bride’s attention was caught by a nice bag which she insisted to buy. After a long discussion the groom persuaded her to give up this idea since, I was said, the bag was too expensive. I noticed the the bride’s disappointed expression…

Before starting the honeymoon photo shooting the couple got dressed in their hotel room in Desenzano del Garda.

A few days later the same couple asked me to have a honeymoon photo sessions in Desenzano, on the Garda Lake. They wore their wedding suites and I shot the couple on this beautiful natural background.

During the honeymoon photo shooting the couple posed in some romantic spots along the Garda Lake.

During the same session, as I was focusing on portraying the bride with her nice white dress and a long bridal veil when, suddenly, the groom arrived at the place, holding a packet with the same brand of the bag we saw in Venice.

As he approached and gave her the present, I was able to catch her face’s amazed and delighted expression: she was almost on the point of bursting into tears!

The bride was overjoyed with the groom’s present and this gave me to shoot their happy expressions and spontaneous feelings.

Honeymoon photo shooting: a dancing bridal veil at Garda Lake

During this honeymoon photo service at Garda Lake the bride and the groom accepted my suggestion to play with the bridal veil.

Last September a nice just-married Russian couple hired me as a honeymoon photographer to shoot them on the background of Garda Lake in Desenzano. Since the wedding had already taken place in Russia, they just wore their wedding dresses again in their hotel room, walked along the lake and posed for some shots in some romantic spots.

This honeymoon photo service enclosed some shots in romantic spots at Garda Lake

In order to make the photo session more dynamic and funny, I suggested the bride to play with her veil and let it dance in the air: she was glad to do it and her husband contributed to the dance. The dance began at the hotel and went on during the whole session: at the lakeside, at the lighthouse, in the gardens, etc.

As a honeymoon photographer I enjoy enlive my photographs with creative ideas and suggestions.

This is a nice example of how a little detail and a creative idea can turn a common couple photo session into some really pleasant hours and unique shots.

A Surprising Honeymoon Photo Shooting in Venice: Dear Bride, Don’t touch the frog!

During her honeymoon photo service a bride was reproached by the watchmen for touching the statue at Punta della Dogana

I was lately hired as honeymoon photographer by a just-married Russian couple. The couple was spending a few days in Venice before leaving the city for a honeymoon cruise and wanted to have high-quality pictures of their stay.

We started our informal photo walk in the city, stopping in some romantic spots to shoot the couple and, in some cases, letting the bride posing alone.

During our informal photo walk, I took some shots of the couple in some romantic spots in Venice

We arrived at the Chiesa della Salute and had some shots thereas well, with the couple sitting on the stairs or standing with the Canal Grande on the background.

Then, while I was not looking at her, the bride approached the statue of a young boy holding a frog which was standing there and touched the frog. Was she posing as Cinderella and trying to kiss and  turn it into Prince Charming?

In any case, she was immediately reproached by the statue’s watchmen.

As we later learnt, the statue is an important piece of art by the American artist Charles Ray sponsored by the tycoon François Pinault. Some critics find it a very creative piece of modern art, other consider it too provocative; some argue that the statue symbolize a look at the future, others argue that the frog hints to water, a key element in Venice … well, in my client’s eyes, it was just something like a toy to play with!

It is so easy in Venice to let art enter as a key actor in your shots….
