Desenzano is a lovely city on the Garda Lake and is chosen by many couples to host their wedding. What do you need to do to get married here?
- Apply at the Mayor’s Office with a formal letter, copy of your identity documents and mention of the desired wedding date.
- Choose and book the venue. Beautiful halls in ancient palaces are available for civil weddings: Sala dell’Orologio inside the City Hall, Sala della Musica at Villa Brunati and Sala Sirmione at Villa La Tassinara. Ceremonies take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturday in the morning and on Thursdays afternoon.
-
Get an official clearance from your country’s authorities in Italy, with the Embassador or Consul’s signature, and submit it to the Civil Affairs Office with your passport at least 10 days before the wedding
- Go to the Civil Affairs office with an interpreter to formally declare your will to get married at least 2 days before the wedding. For further information see Desenzano City Council’s website.
